Hyderabad-based dronetech startup Drogo Aerospace Pvt Ltd announced on Monday that it has delivered the initial batch of 41 JK 250e drones to the Indian Army as part of a Rs 72-crore defence contract. This delivery marks a significant milestone in the company's expansion within indigenous military technology. The drones were officially received by officials from the Army's Southern Command in Nashik, Maharashtra. The company plans to complete the remaining deliveries under this order by August 2026.
Features of the JK 250e Drone
The JK 250e, designed and manufactured entirely by Drogo Aerospace, boasts a flight endurance of up to three hours on a single charge. It is specifically intended for surveillance, reconnaissance, and other critical military operations, highlighting its strategic importance.
CEO's Remarks
Yeshwanth Bonthu, founder and CEO of Drogo Aerospace, emphasized that the delivery validates the company's technological prowess and manufacturing capabilities. He revealed that the company is currently developing indigenous loitering munitions, long-endurance UAVs, AI-powered aerial intelligence platforms, and advanced reconnaissance systems.
Expansion Plans
Drogo Aerospace is establishing a 100,000-square-foot drone manufacturing facility in Maheshwaram, located in Telangana's Ranga Reddy district. The state government has allotted approximately 4.5 acres of land within the electronics manufacturing cluster for this purpose. Once operational, the facility is expected to create nearly 500 additional jobs. The company currently employs around 300 people.
Rebranding and Future Focus
Formerly known as Drogo Drones Pvt Ltd, the startup recently rebranded as Drogo Aerospace to reflect its broader focus on defence, aviation, unmanned systems, satellites, and future aerospace solutions. The company is expanding its work on next-generation unmanned aerial systems, advanced surveillance platforms, and defence technologies.
Recent Exhibitions
Drogo Aerospace recently showcased its products at a defence industry exhibition in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the company's technologies during the event.
