According to Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, India's refining capacity is set for a monumental leap. The current capacity of 254 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) is projected to surge to more than 450 MMTPA in the coming years. "We were consuming 4.2 gigawatts of solar energy in 2014; today we consume 81 gigawatts," Minister Puri highlighted, emphasizing the diversified approach to energy development.
