A delegation of industry leaders has urged the department of medium and large industries to develop a new industrial park in Hassan district. The delegation, led by HA Kiran, director of FKCCI and IT Growth chairman, met the department's principal secretary, S Selvakumar, and made a detailed presentation on the industrial growth potential of the Hassan border – Hirisave region, citing its proximity to Nelamangala.
Key Advantages Highlighted
Kiran said Hassan offered favourable climatic conditions and strong connectivity through four-lane highways and good road infrastructure. He added that the proposed airport, expected to become operational next year, would significantly boost industrial growth and contribute to the district's economic and social development.
Skilled Workforce
He also pointed out that the district produces around 5,000 technically skilled graduates, diploma holders and ITI students every year, creating a strong talent pool for industries.
Investment Potential
The delegation congratulated the department on attracting investments worth about Rs 51,400 crore for ‘Invest Karnataka 2026' and urged that Hassan be considered a potential investment destination as well.

After detailed discussions, Selvakumar assured the delegation that he would take up the proposal with the government positively.
