Kudumbashree Launches 'Meat Point' Takeaway Food Counters Across Kerala

Kudumbashree is launching a new initiative called 'Meat Point'. This project involves a network of takeaway food counters that will operate across the entire state of Kerala.

What Will 'Meat Point' Serve?

The counters will offer a wide variety of food items. Customers can enjoy many chicken-based dishes. The menu includes broasted chicken, chicken nuggets, kebabs, and chicken 65. It also features lollipop chicken, meatballs, and bread pops.

In addition to these, the counters will serve momos and samosas. Breakfast, dinner, and snack options will be available too. This ensures a diverse selection for all times of the day.

Launch Details and Expansion Plans

The state-level inauguration event is scheduled for Tuesday at 1:30 PM. It will take place at Mulavana Junction in Thiruvananthapuram.

In the first phase, Kudumbashree plans to open 50 takeaway counters. These will be established in all districts across Kerala. Four units will begin operations in Thiruvananthapuram initially.

Training and Support for Members

Selected Kudumbashree members have already received special training. This training was conducted in collaboration with Meat Products of India. It covered several important areas.

  • Food processing techniques
  • Recipe preparation methods
  • Proper packaging procedures
  • Efficient procurement strategies
  • Effective marketing practices

Kudumbashree will provide further training and financial assistance to selected units. This support aims to ensure the success of each takeaway counter.

Goals and Expected Impact

The 'Meat Point' initiative follows a unified operational model. This model covers food quality standards and basic infrastructure requirements. The primary goal is to ensure a steady income for Kudumbashree café and canteen units.

Once fully implemented, the project is expected to create sustainable employment opportunities. It aims to provide income to over 200 women across Kerala. This will significantly contribute to women's economic empowerment in the state.

How to Get Involved

Neighbourhood group and auxiliary group members who are interested can participate. Those wanting to start takeaway counters should contact their respective Kudumbashree district mission offices. The organization is actively seeking motivated individuals to join this venture.

The 'Meat Point' initiative represents an exciting new chapter for Kudumbashree. It combines culinary entrepreneurship with social empowerment. Kerala residents can soon enjoy convenient, quality takeaway food while supporting local women entrepreneurs.
