Ludhiana Factory Horror: 26-Year-Old Worker Falls into Furnace, Burnt Alive
A devastating industrial accident has shaken the industrial hub of Ludhiana, claiming the life of a young worker in a horrific furnace incident. The tragedy unfolded at Vital Steel Bars Limited, located on Buddewal Road in the Jamalpur area, where 26-year-old Sachin Gautam fell into an iron furnace and was burnt alive.
Night Shift Turns Deadly
The incident occurred during night operations at the steel manufacturing facility. According to police reports and CCTV footage obtained for investigation, normal work was proceeding when Sachin Gautam approached the furnace area. In a sudden, terrifying moment, he lost his footing and plunged into the blazing iron furnace.
The CCTV footage captures the horrifying sequence: As Sachin falls into the furnace, flames erupt violently from the opening, causing panic among other workers who scramble to safety. The intense heat and sudden nature of the accident made any rescue attempt impossible.
Family's Anguish and Allegations
The victim's family has leveled serious accusations against both the factory management and local authorities. Sachin's brother, Manu Gautam, and father have stated that inadequate safety measures during night shifts directly contributed to the tragedy.
"There were no proper security arrangements in the night shift," the family alleged, "which is why our Sachin could not be saved."
Adding to their distress, the family claims they were not properly handed Sachin's remains, preventing them from conducting appropriate last rites according to their traditions.
Victim's Background and Investigation
Sachin Gautam, originally from Gorakhpur, had been employed at Vital Steel Bars Limited for approximately two-and-a-half years. After completing his Class X education, he earned a diploma and had become the primary financial provider for his family.
Personal tragedy compounds professional loss: The family had been actively searching for a marriage match for the 26-year-old, turning what should have been a time of celebration into profound mourning. Sachin is survived by a sister who practices as a high court lawyer and a brother who operates a retail store.
Police authorities have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against factory owner Aseem Agarwal, who remains at large as investigations continue. Law enforcement officials confirm they have seized the CCTV footage as part of their thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
Broader Safety Concerns
This incident raises significant questions about industrial safety protocols in manufacturing facilities, particularly during night operations when supervision might be reduced. The Ludhiana region, known as a major industrial center in Punjab, has seen multiple workplace safety incidents over the years, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of safety regulations.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are examining whether proper safety barriers, warning systems, and emergency protocols were in place at the furnace area. The tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the potentially fatal consequences when workplace safety measures are compromised in industrial settings.
