Fire at Noida Factory: Blaze Spreads to Three Adjacent Units
A major fire broke out at a bag manufacturing factory in Noida's Sector 63, D Block, on Friday afternoon, rapidly spreading to three nearby industrial units. Fire officials confirmed that 16 fire tenders were deployed, and the blaze was brought under control after nearly two hours of operation. No casualties were reported.
Cause and Initial Response
According to Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Chaubey, the fire was reported around 2 p.m. from the premises of Eagle Business. Preliminary investigations suggest the blaze may have been triggered by an air conditioner explosion. Officials noted that highly inflammable raw materials and a diesel generator set stored in the setback area contributed to the rapid intensification of the flames. Despite efforts by factory staff to control the fire, it spread quickly, engulfing parts of adjacent units, including a handicraft factory and two other industrial establishments located behind the main building.
Firefighting Operations
The fire department initially rushed four fire tenders to the spot, but additional vehicles were called from Ghaziabad as the flames continued to spread. Firefighters used a mixture of foam and water to douse the blaze and prevent it from reaching other nearby structures. Officials reported that firefighters wearing breathing apparatus sets entered the smoke-filled premises to carry out operations. Windows and glass panels of the factories were broken to release dense smoke trapped inside the buildings.
"The priority was to stop the fire from spreading further and ensure that no workers were trapped inside. Fortunately, there was no loss of life," Chaubey said.
Previous Incidents and Investigation
Officials revealed that this was not the first such incident at the premises. The Eagle Business factory reportedly experienced three fire incidents earlier. The factory's fire safety arrangements and compliance with industrial safety norms will now be examined.
Impact on the Area
After the incident, heavy smoke was visible across the industrial area from a considerable distance. Due to the movement of multiple fire tenders and the gathering crowd near the site, vehicular movement on the road near the C Block police outpost was affected for some time. Traffic moved slowly as police and emergency teams created space for firefighting operations.
