A significant industrial engineering and manufacturing exhibition kicked off in Indore on Friday, marking a major convergence of the country's manufacturing prowess. The event, inaugurated by MP Shankar Lalwani, has drawn participation from over 250 engineering companies and manufacturers from across India, showcasing a vast array of products, technologies, and services.
A Platform for Innovation and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'
Organised by the Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh (AIMP), the expo will run until January 12, featuring a strong contingent from major industrial hubs as well as robust local representation. This year, 250 stalls have been set up, displaying cutting-edge technologies and solutions spanning a wide spectrum of sectors.
In his address, chief guest MP Shankar Lalwani emphasized the expo's role in fostering innovation. He stated that such events are crucial for businesses to gain exposure to the latest market trends and technologies. Lalwani affirmed that the exhibition would prove to be a milestone in advancing the goals of both 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India).
Diverse Showcase of Industrial Technology
The exhibition floor is a testament to India's evolving industrial landscape. Key display areas include:
- Machine tools and CNC lathes
- Hydraulics and pneumatics systems
- Advanced laser machinery
- Robotics and automation solutions
- Metallurgy and precision measuring instruments
- Solar and renewable energy technologies
- Packaging machinery
Yogesh Mehta, President of AIMP, highlighted the expo's 15-year journey, establishing it as one of central India's premier industrial platforms. He noted that more than 10,000 products and services are on display, providing a powerful stage for MSMEs, young entrepreneurs, startups, and manufacturing units to explore new markets, adopt technologies, and forge vital business relationships.
Connecting the Industrial Ecosystem
The core objective of the expo is to connect the entire manufacturing ecosystem. Organisers aim to bridge the gap between manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and traders, with a special focus on small and medium-scale industries. The participation includes several leading large corporates alongside a significant number of MSMEs.
Local industrial units from Indore and surrounding districts are leveraging this national platform to showcase their capabilities, underscoring the region's growing prominence as a formidable engineering and manufacturing base.
Industry representatives present at the event observed that the exhibition mirrors the rising enthusiasm for domestic manufacturing. There is a clear and increasing emphasis on technology adoption, operational efficiency, and deeper supply-chain integration. The expo will continue over the coming days with a schedule packed with live product demonstrations, technical sessions, and structured business-to-business meetings.
