Kolkata-headquartered electric vehicle manufacturer Motovolt Mobility has announced strategic partnerships with three major third-party logistics providers to strengthen its presence in India's rapidly growing last-mile delivery market.
Strategic Expansion Across Key Metros
The company has joined forces with logistics players Greendrive, Shadowfax, and Loadshare to deploy its electric two-wheelers for last-mile delivery operations in three major Indian cities: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi. This expansion marks a significant step in Motovolt's mission to transform urban mobility and reduce carbon emissions in the logistics sector.
Founded in 2019, Motovolt currently has over 2,500 electric two-wheelers actively serving last-mile delivery providers across the country. The company's total fleet strength stands at approximately 35,000 vehicles operating throughout India, demonstrating substantial growth in the electric mobility space.
Proven Performance in Challenging Conditions
Tushar Choudhary, Founder & CEO of Motovolt, explained the rationale behind these partnerships: "The collaborations with logistics providers are built on a shared vision of reliability, ease of maintenance, and operational cost-effectiveness after our vehicles demonstrated their capabilities in high-density traffic and challenging road conditions."
The company's flagship product, the M7 model, is specifically designed for third-party logistics providers and gig economy workers. The vehicle engineering focuses on maximizing fleet uptime while minimizing the total cost of ownership, addressing key concerns in the delivery industry.
Battery Swapping Technology Eliminates Downtime
Motovolt's MVS7 variant comes equipped with advanced battery-swapping capabilities through partnerships with Indofast Energy and Yuma Energy. This innovative feature completely eliminates charging downtime, allowing delivery partners to maintain continuous operations without interruptions for battery charging.
The company's electric two-wheelers are already being utilized by major delivery platforms including Zomato, Flipkart, and Swiggy, validating their performance and reliability in real-world conditions. Choudhary emphasized their broader vision: "We are creating an ecosystem that enables our partners to reduce operational costs and scale their businesses efficiently."
This expansion comes at a time when India's electric vehicle market is experiencing rapid growth, particularly in the commercial segment where cost efficiency and environmental sustainability are becoming increasingly important factors for businesses operating in urban environments.
