In a significant breakthrough, police in Muzaffarnagar have dismantled a gang allegedly involved in the production and sale of counterfeit nursing diplomas, marksheets, registration certificates, and other educational documents. Authorities confirmed on Sunday that ten individuals have been arrested so far in connection with the racket.

Forged Documents Sold for Rs 25,000 Each

According to police officials, the forged documents were reportedly sold for approximately Rs 25,000 each. There are suspicions that several individuals may have used these fake credentials to secure positions in healthcare institutions, potentially compromising patient safety and the integrity of the medical profession.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Akshay Sanjay stated, "The operation was launched following a tip-off that a group was preparing fake diplomas and selling them to youths seeking jobs in the healthcare sector."

Raids and Arrests

A police team conducted a raid near Sambhalhera village in Muzaffarnagar, leading to the arrest of five suspects. During interrogation, they revealed details of a broader network, which prompted further action. Subsequently, five more individuals were apprehended from private healthcare facilities in Meerut.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Shivanand, Manish, and Sachin Pal from Muzaffarnagar, and Kuldeep Kumar, Ismail, Adil, Ritesh, Jayant, Sandeep Kumar, and Nitesh from Meerut.

Seized Items

Police seized a variety of items allegedly used in the production of forged documents, including:

  • 10 mobile phones
  • Fake diplomas and marksheets stored in 17 files
  • Two CPUs
  • Two monitors
  • A printer
  • A motorcycle

Legal Action and Investigation

A case has been registered at Kakrauli police station under Sections 318(4) (cheating) and 336(3) (forgery with intent to cheat) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police have stated that further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the network and identify any other individuals involved.

Authorities are also working to determine how many people may have obtained jobs using these fake documents and whether any healthcare facilities were complicit in the scheme.
