Neenjas Electric gets YEIDA plot for Rs 169 cr EV facility

In a significant push for domestic electric vehicle (EV) component manufacturing, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has formally allotted a major industrial plot to an EV solutions firm. The authority has issued a letter of intent to Neenjas Electric for establishing a large-scale manufacturing facility in Greater Noida.

Details of the Land Allotment and Investment

The allotted plot spans 20,000 square metres and is located in Sector 8D of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Area. Neenjas Electric, a company specializing in advanced electric vehicle charging technology, plans to invest approximately Rs 169 crore in setting up its mega facility on this land. The company's product portfolio includes sophisticated on-board and off-board chargers for EVs, IP-rated charging units, and AC-DC power converters.

Boosting 'Make in India' and EV Infrastructure

YEIDA's Chief Executive Officer, Rakesh Kumar Singh, emphasized the strategic importance of this allotment. He stated that this move will provide a substantial boost to the central government's 'Make in India' initiative. Furthermore, it is expected to strengthen the country's foundational electric vehicle infrastructure by increasing the domestic production of critical components.

The planned facility will act as a central hub for Neenjas Electric's expansion plans in advanced EV technology and renewable energy storage solutions. A key focus of the project will be the large-scale manufacturing of onboard EV chargers and solar power banks. The company has stated its intention to develop onboard chargers specifically tailored to withstand Indian road and weather conditions. It also aims to manufacture solar power banks designed to enhance energy self-reliance for everyday consumers.

Employment and Strategic Advantages

Officials have highlighted that the project is anticipated to generate considerable employment opportunities for the local population. This development is also seen as a step that will solidify Greater Noida's growing reputation as a global hub for green technology and sustainable manufacturing.

The location's proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar is a major strategic advantage. This proximity is widely viewed as creating a strong long-term investment opportunity, as it drastically reduces transportation time and logistics costs. Such benefits make the Yamuna Expressway region highly attractive not just for EV manufacturing, but also for export-oriented industries, warehousing, e-commerce operations, and cold-chain businesses.
