Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has assured that there is no shortfall in the supply of fertiliser to Karnataka. Speaking on the matter, he stated that against a pro-rata requirement of 3.13 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of urea, a supply of 5.59 lakh MT had been ensured as of June 10. This indicates a significant surplus in availability.
Government Measures to Ensure Adequate Supply
The central government has taken proactive steps to guarantee that farmers in Karnataka receive the necessary fertilisers for the cropping season. The enhanced supply is part of a broader strategy to support agricultural productivity and prevent any disruptions due to shortages.
Impact on Farmers
Farmers in the state can expect timely access to urea and other fertilisers, which is crucial for crop yield. The minister emphasised that the government remains vigilant and will continue to monitor the situation to address any emerging demands.
This assurance comes amidst concerns over global supply chain issues and domestic production challenges. However, the data provided by the ministry shows that Karnataka's fertiliser requirements are being met effectively.
