In a significant advancement for sustainable power generation, the NTPC Kanti station in Patna has achieved an impressive 126% ash utilization rate this year. This milestone underscores the facility's commitment to environmental stewardship while maintaining robust operational performance.

Exemplary Safety Record and Operational Excellence

Sanjib Kumar Suar, Head of Project at NTPC Kanti, highlighted the station's outstanding safety achievements during a press conference held on Monday. "NTPC Kanti has maintained an excellent safety record with no fatal accidents reported over the past four years," Suar stated. "This reflects the strong safety culture and unwavering dedication of our employees. We are continuously working to enhance operational efficiency and boost generation capacity."

The station's focus on safety is complemented by ongoing efforts to optimize power generation processes, ensuring reliable electricity supply while minimizing environmental impact.

Comprehensive Community Development Initiatives

NTPC Kanti has launched a wide array of social welfare programs aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in nearby villages. Key initiatives include:

  • Weekly Medical Camps: Providing health check-ups, free medicines, and essential medical tests to thousands of local residents.
  • Dedicated Ambulance Service: A specialized service for pregnant women and newborns to ensure timely medical care.
  • Educational Support: Establishment of two smart classrooms in local schools and the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM), which offers one month of residential training annually to 40 girls from the Kanti region.
  • Skill Development Programs: Training in sewing machine operation, bakery, and pickle-making to promote women's economic empowerment.
  • Infrastructure Development: Construction of roads and drainage systems, along with the distribution of approximately 900 desks to nearby schools.

Environmental Conservation and Employment Generation

Demonstrating its commitment to ecological preservation, NTPC Kanti has planted over 70,000 saplings to date, contributing to local greenery and air quality improvement. Additionally, the station is actively fostering employment opportunities for youth in the region.

"To enhance employment prospects for local youth, we sponsored 18 students for training at CIPET, Hajipur," Suar explained. "All of them have successfully secured employment, showcasing our dedication to community upliftment."
