Odisha CM Majhi Leads Rs 2,600 Cr Investment Push at Hyderabad Roadshow
Odisha's Hyderabad Summit Aims to Sign Key MoUs

The Odisha government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is taking a significant stride to attract major industrial investments. The state is set to host the 'Invest Odisha Hyderabad Summit', a high-profile investors' meet, in Hyderabad on Friday. This roadshow marks a crucial effort to position Odisha as a premier destination for business and sustainable development.

Deepening Ties with Industry Leaders

Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain emphasized the strategic importance of the Hyderabad outreach. He stated that the event is a pivotal step to strengthen collaborative engagement with top industry leaders and investors across the country. The government's vision is to transform Odisha into a dynamic hub of innovation and economic opportunity by showcasing its compelling value proposition.

The Odisha delegation plans intensive one-on-one meetings with captains of industry and senior executives from leading companies. A key roundtable discussion with major stakeholders is also on the agenda. During these interactions, the state will highlight its strengths, including dedicated industrial parks, robust infrastructure, readily available land banks, a skilled workforce, and progressive policies backed by a streamlined single-window clearance system.

Focus Sectors and Major MoU on the Anvil

Industries Secretary Hemant Sharma revealed the key focus areas for the Hyderabad meet. While officials have pre-engaged with numerous prospective investors, special emphasis will be placed on projects in the chemicals, metal downstream, and pharmaceutical sectors. The government is optimistic about signing multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in these domains to boost the state's industrial base.

In a major development, sources confirmed that a landmark MoU involving an investment of Rs 2,600 crore is slated to be formally signed during the summit. The agreement will be between the Odisha government, Shreetech Data Limited (India), and Orange Business Services (France).

This partnership will see Shreetech Data Limited establish the first underwater cable landing system on India's east coast. The project envisions creating a next-generation digital infrastructure ecosystem, which includes a carrier-neutral subsea cable landing station (CLS), a Singapore-connected subsea cable system, and an AI-ready hyperscale data centre campus.

Driving Sustainable Industrial Growth

The Hyderabad summit is more than just a roadshow; it's a statement of intent from the new state leadership. By directly engaging with the industrial heartland of South India, Odisha aims to accelerate its journey towards becoming a magnet for high-value, sustainable investments. The expected MoUs, particularly the groundbreaking subsea cable project, underscore the state's commitment to embracing futuristic technology and infrastructure, paving the way for long-term economic transformation and job creation.
