Prayagraj LPG Distributors Request Enhanced Supply Quotas for Upcoming Festivals

With the festive seasons of Navratri and Eid approaching, LPG distributors in Prayagraj have made an urgent appeal to district authorities and oil marketing companies. On Wednesday, they called for an increase in the daily supply quota to address and clear the existing backlog of domestic cylinder deliveries.

Proposed Solutions to Manage Demand and Supply

Distributors emphasized that the backlog could be managed efficiently if oil companies commit to supplying a fixed number of domestic cylinders each day. They highlighted that the mandatory 25-day gap between two bookings would naturally moderate demand, as only consumers who have exhausted this period would be eligible to place new orders.

This regulatory measure is expected to streamline the booking process and prevent excessive rush during the high-demand festival period.

Key Meeting to Streamline LPG Distribution

Officials from the district administration, oil marketing companies, and distributor associations convened a crucial meeting on Wednesday evening. The primary objective was to develop a comprehensive plan to optimize supply chains and effectively manage the anticipated surge in bookings.

Sources indicate that queues outside distributor outlets have noticeably decreased in recent days. Most consumers who place bookings are now receiving their cylinders within a turnaround time of three to four days, reflecting some improvement in distribution efficiency.

However, distributors warn that without proactive measures to boost daily quotas, the system could face renewed strain as festive demand peaks. They stress the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply for households during Navratri and Eid celebrations.
