Key Timeline Reductions for Plot Approvals
RIICO has issued a revised circular directing heads of industrial zones to clear applications within newly established, reduced time limits. Among the most notable changes is the drastic reduction in the processing time for power of attorney intimation, which has been slashed from 15 days to just one day. This adjustment is part of a broader effort to make administrative processes more efficient and responsive to business needs.
The corporation has also moved these services online through the state's single sign-on (SSO) portal, ensuring a streamlined and transparent application process. This digital shift is expected to minimize delays and enhance accessibility for allottees in RIICO industrial zones, who typically require multiple approvals at different stages of project development.
Specific Approvals with Shortened Timelines
Several critical approvals have seen their processing times significantly reduced:
- Factory Construction Stages: Intimation processing time has been cut from three days to one day. According to a RIICO official, once geo-tagged photographs are uploaded, applications will be deemed approved within a day.
- Environmental Approvals and Lease Deed Registration: Timelines for these processes have been reduced from three days to one day, along with reporting completion of mortgage formalities.
- Sub-letting or Sub-leasing of Plots: Applications will now be processed within three days, down from the previous seven days.
- Extension Requests for Industrial Units: For entrepreneurs seeking extensions to set up units within stipulated timeframes, RIICO now requires proper justification, geo-tagged photographs, and supporting documents. Disposal time for these requests has been reduced from 15 days to 10 days.
Additional Streamlined Processes
RIICO has also shortened timelines for other cases, including amalgamation through court orders, plot transfers due to death, gift deeds, sale transactions, and subdivision transfers. These measures are designed to address a wide range of business scenarios and further reduce administrative bottlenecks.
