The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) Haryana Integrated Manufacturing Cluster Hisar Project Limited (NHIMCHPL) has issued a Rs 707 crore Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) tender for developing trunk infrastructure at the proposed Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) near Maharaja Agrasen airport in Hisar. This marks a significant first step for the project under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC).
Scope of the Tender and Project Details
The tender covers design, construction, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of trunk infrastructure on approximately 2,988 acres of encumbrance-free government land. The estimated project cost is Rs 707 crore, excluding operation and maintenance (O&M) costs and GST. The successful bidder must complete construction within 30 months and maintain the infrastructure for five years, with a 60-month defect liability period from the completion certificate date.
Trunk infrastructure includes internal roads, water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage, power distribution, and other essential utilities for industrial development. The tender was issued through e-tendering by NHIMCHPL, a special purpose vehicle jointly promoted by the central and Haryana governments.
Power Infrastructure Planning for the Cluster
Upon completion, the IMC is expected to require around 232 MW of electricity. To meet this demand, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) will establish a 220-kV grid substation, while Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) will handle power distribution within different sectors. According to a DHBVN official, “They have decided to set up five 33-kV substations, and detailed project reports (DPRs) for these facilities will be prepared soon.”
Strategic Importance and Economic Impact
The IMC Hisar is one of 12 industrial smart city projects under the AKIC programme and is expected to create world-class industrial infrastructure, attracting large manufacturing investments to western Haryana. The project has an initial advantage due to nearly 2,988 acres of encumbrance-free government land already transferred by the state government. The development is anticipated to reshape the economic landscape of the region.
