TajSATS, the airline catering arm of Indian Hotels Company, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art in-flight kitchen at Noida International Airport. The facility is designed to serve both domestic and international carriers, marking a significant expansion of the company's operations in the Delhi-NCR region.
Facility capacity and features
Spanning 45,000 square feet, the kitchen is equipped to produce over 20,000 meals per day, with the potential to scale up operations as demand grows. The facility integrates advanced culinary and safety technologies, including goods scanners and modern operational equipment. It also features expansive bonded and airline storage spaces to support client partnerships.
The Atelier tasting room
A dedicated tasting room named 'The Atelier' provides a collaborative platform for chefs and airline partners to conceptualize and present curated gourmet offerings. This space is designed to foster innovation and enhance the dining experience for passengers.
Strategic importance
Manish Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of TajSATS, stated that the facility is a strategic step in aligning the company's capabilities with the next phase of aviation growth in India. He emphasized that as airport infrastructure develops, this facility in a high-growth corridor allows TajSATS to partner with airlines while also enabling the growth of other institutional catering segments in the region.
Market presence
TajSATS holds a 60% market share in the airline catering industry and serves over 150,000 passengers daily. The company operates aviation kitchens at airports in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Dabolim, Mopa (Goa), and Amritsar. The new Noida kitchen further strengthens its network and presence in the Delhi-NCR area.
