India's Two-Wheeler Sales Soar in Dec 2025: Hero Leads with 40% Surge
Two-Wheeler Sales Boom in Dec 2025, Hero Up 40%

The Indian two-wheeler industry concluded the calendar year 2025 on an exceptionally high note, with December witnessing remarkable year-on-year growth across all major manufacturers. This robust performance was fueled by a favorable market environment, including a significant reduction in the Goods and Services Tax (GST), which boosted consumer sentiment and demand.

Market Leaders Report Stellar Growth

Hero MotoCorp emerged as the top performer in December 2025, registering a massive 40% increase in wholesale dispatches. The company sold 4,56,479 units, a substantial jump from the 3,24,906 units sold in December 2024. Its domestic market was the primary driver, with sales climbing to 4,19,243 units from 2,94,152. Within this, motorcycle volumes saw a sharp rise, and scooter dispatches more than doubled, indicating a broad-based recovery. Exports also grew healthily to 37,236 units.

Not far behind, TVS Motor Company delivered one of the strongest performances with a 48% surge in total two-wheeler sales, reaching 4,61,071 units. Its domestic shipments grew an impressive 54% to 3,30,362 units, with both motorcycle and scooter segments contributing significant gains.

Solid Performances Across the Board

Other key players also reported positive numbers for the final month of the year. Bajaj Auto recorded a 14% rise in total two-wheeler sales to 3,10,353 units. This growth was notably powered by a strong 24% jump in exports, which stood at 1,78,125 units, while domestic volumes saw a modest 3% increase to 1,32,228 units.

The iconic Royal Enfield reported a solid 30% increase in sales, dispatching 1,03,574 units in December 2025 compared to the previous year. The bulk of these deliveries came from the domestic market. Similarly, Suzuki Motorcycle India closed the year with a 26% increase in December sales, totaling 1,22,366 units. The company saw domestic dispatches rise to 97,823 units and exports climb 37% to 24,543 units, reflecting a recovery in overseas demand.

A Strong Finish to the Year

The collective sales data from December 2025 paints a picture of a vibrant and recovering two-wheeler market in India. The combination of policy support like the GST cut and sustained consumer demand across segments—from commuter motorcycles to premium brands and scooters—has provided a strong tailwind. This healthy momentum across Hero MotoCorp, TVS, Bajaj, Royal Enfield, and Suzuki suggests a positive outlook for the industry as it moves into the new financial year, setting a confident tone for 2026.
