Uttar Pradesh Cancels Four Defence Corridor Land Allotments Over Non-Compliance

The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has taken decisive action by cancelling four industrial land allotments across different nodes of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor. This move comes after the allottees consistently failed to meet prescribed investment, construction, and payment obligations within the stipulated timelines, despite multiple opportunities to rectify the situation.

Review Reveals Unsatisfactory Progress on Projects

The cancellations followed a comprehensive review of the compliance status of allotted plots, which revealed that progress on several projects remained unsatisfactory. Significant time had passed since the initial allocations, yet the allottees made little to no headway. The authority emphasized that such delays have adversely affected planned industrial activity, employment generation, and the efficient utilization of allocated land, undermining the corridor's development goals.

Details of the Cancelled Allotments

The cancelled industrial land allotments include:

  • P2 Logitec Pvt Ltd: Allotted land in 2021 in the Aligarh node for optical sight manufacturing. The company did not clear outstanding dues or initiate project implementation, even after being provided with notices and opportunities for hearings.
  • Tractrix Opto Dynamics LLP: Allotted land in 2021 in the Aligarh node for precision and optical equipment manufacturing. The firm did not submit building plans or commence construction, despite multiple notices issued between 2023 and 2025.
  • Milkor Defence Pvt Ltd: Allotted land in 2021 in the Aligarh node for manufacturing grenade launchers. The company did not meet payment obligations or project development requirements under the lease conditions, despite ongoing communication from the authority.

Due Process Followed in Cancellation Decisions

The allottees were given multiple opportunities to address compliance gaps and rectify their shortcomings. The cancellations were carried out only after following due process, ensuring that the decisions were fair and legally sound. The authority stated that this action is part of its ongoing efforts to ensure the effective use of industrial land and strict adherence to project timelines within the corridor.

This move highlights UPEIDA's commitment to maintaining accountability and fostering timely development in the strategically important Defence Industrial Corridor, which aims to boost manufacturing and create employment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
