UP Expressway Land Allotment for Industrial Clusters to Begin in 6 Months
UP Expressway Land Allotment for Industrial Clusters Soon

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is set to begin allotting land for industrial purposes within the next six months across eight districts situated along key expressways. This move is part of a broader plan to establish 23 integrated manufacturing and logistics clusters (IMLCs) in the state.

Officials have confirmed that eight of these clusters are at an advanced stage, with land allotment expected to commence in the next three to four months. UPEIDA is developing 3,415 hectares (8,439 acres) in phases near five operational expressways to stimulate industrial growth and attract private investment.

“We have already initiated the land allocation process for the Firozabad, Hardoi, and Meerut IMLCs. In addition to these three districts, civil works are progressing rapidly in Sambhal, Buduan, Shahjahanpur, Hamirpur, and Etawah,” a senior authority official stated.

Plots will be offered on a lease basis, with upfront payments ranging from Rs 3,800 to Rs 11,470 per square metre, along with an annual lease rent.

Officials noted that land banking has been planned alongside expressway development, particularly for the Ganga Expressway project, which was developed under a public-private partnership model. As part of this strategy, UPEIDA coordinated land acquisition in Meerut, Sambhal, Buduan, Unnao, Hardoi, and Shahjahanpur to enhance the investment proposition, generate industrial activity, and increase traffic on the corridor, thereby supporting the recovery of funds invested in land acquisition.

Separately, UPEIDA has accelerated the process of identifying construction agencies for new link expressways aimed at improving regional connectivity. These include a 51-km link connecting the Lucknow-Agra Expressway with the Purvanchal Expressway, and a 91-km link connecting the Ganga Expressway with the Bundelkhand Expressway, along with connectivity improvements from the Lucknow-Agra corridor towards Farrukhabad and nearby districts. Bidders for these two projects will be evaluated from June 23, after which selected agencies are expected to be awarded construction contracts.
