These include upgrading road networks connecting paddy-growing regions to processing units, establishing cold storage chains to reduce post-harvest losses, and simplifying procedures for obtaining licenses and environmental clearances.
Infrastructure Upgrades
The industry has urged the government to invest in modernizing existing rice mills with energy-efficient technology. Many mills in the state operate with outdated machinery, leading to higher operational costs and lower output quality. The memorandum also calls for the development of dedicated industrial parks for agro-processing, equipped with reliable power supply and water treatment facilities.
