The Zaheerabad Industrial Area is being developed under the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor (HNIC) as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. In the first phase, 3,245 acres out of a total of 12,000 acres will be developed at a cost of Rs 2,350 crore. The site, adjacent to NH-65, will feature advanced and sustainable infrastructure under the Smart Integrated Industrial Township model, designed to accommodate future industrial growth.
Historical Context and Future Prospects
Bidar district was declared a non-industrial district in the 1980s, resulting in a lack of large-scale industries and limited employment generation. Consequently, many young graduates have had to migrate to cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad in search of jobs.
