Bagmane Developers Commits Rs 40 Crore to Bengaluru Metro's DRDO Station Project
In a significant boost to Bengaluru's infrastructure development, Bagmane Developers Pvt Ltd has formalized a major partnership with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The companies signed a grant agreement on Friday to support the construction of the DRDO Sports Complex Metro station, a crucial component of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) corridor under Phase-2A of the Namma Metro project.
Financial Contribution and Naming Rights Agreement
The agreement involves a substantial financial commitment of Rs 40 crore from Bagmane Developers. Notably, the company has already transferred Rs 20 crore as an initial remittance, demonstrating immediate financial backing for the project. Beyond the direct construction funding, Bagmane Developers will also finance enhancements to the station's interiors and façade, ensuring a modern and aesthetically pleasing transit facility.
In return for this significant investment, BMRCL has granted Bagmane Developers naming rights for the station for a period of 20 years. The proposed designation will be Bagmane DRDO Sports Complex Metro Station, pending final government approval. This naming rights arrangement represents a strategic public-private partnership model that helps fund critical urban infrastructure while providing corporate visibility.
Project Timeline and Broader Metro Expansion
BMRCL has established an ambitious deadline for the broader metro line completion, targeting December 2026 for the opening of the Blue line segment stretching from Central Silk Board to KR Pura.
