DDA Mega E-Auction: Over 150 Plots in Delhi Up for Sale from Dec 30
DDA to Auction 150+ Plots in Delhi from Dec 30

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is gearing up for a major revenue-generating initiative by putting over 150 of its sites and plots under the hammer. A mega e-auction scheme will be launched at the end of next month, aiming to monetise vacant land and assets across the national capital.

What's on Offer in the DDA Auction?

The properties span a wide spectrum of uses, catering to diverse investor and developer interests. The portfolio includes residential, industrial, institutional, and group housing projects. It also features commercial spaces, kiosks, and food courts. A notable highlight is the Café Bamboo Oasis (Baansera), which will be available on an annual licence fee basis.

The plots are categorised into 11 distinct types. Officials confirmed that all listed properties are free from legal encumbrances, comprising both reclaimed land and newly identified parcels. The inventory includes:

  • 30 residential plots in areas like Rohini and Rajendra Nagar.
  • 20 institutional plots and 41 commercial plots.
  • 14 industrial plots and 2 group housing plots in zones such as Dwarka.
  • Other assets like a CNG station plot, shops at Janak Place, five kiosks, and a food court in Dwarka.

Key Dates and Registration Process

The auction process was formally launched on DDA's foundation day. Registrations will open on December 30. Interested bidders must complete their e-registration and submit the mandatory Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) by January 27.

The final auction schedule will be announced after the registration deadline closes. All communication regarding the schedule will be sent via the official auction portal, the DDA website, and the registered email IDs of applicants.

To assist potential bidders, a dedicated help desk will be operational starting December 30. For issues related to digital signatures, registration, training, or general clarifications, applicants can contact the helpline numbers provided on the website between 11 am and 5 pm. They can also visit the office of the Commissioner (Land Disposal) at Vikas Sadan.

Return of E-Auctions After RERA Halt

An official explained that until 2022, DDA conducted e-auctions every quarter based on land data from various departments. However, this process was suspended for nearly one-and-a-half years due to regulatory adjustments required under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA).

"Recently, we introduced a scheme for auctioning licensed properties and e-auctions are now being conducted frequently," the official stated. This mega auction marks a significant resumption and scaling up of DDA's asset monetisation efforts, providing a fresh inventory of prime land to the market.
