The Hyderabad government has extended the working hours of sub-registrar offices (SROs) until June 3 in response to a significant surge in registrations. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that from May 29 to June 3, SRO offices will operate from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM.
Reason for Extension
The increase in property registrations is linked to the state government's impending revision of market values for land parcels. To manage the heavy rush and prevent long waiting times, the minister instructed officials to ensure smooth operations and minimal inconvenience for the public.
Government's Commitment
"The government aims to serve the public. Speed, transparency, and convenience are the three main goals in the registration process," the minister stated. He directed officials to increase the number of slot bookings and indicated that the government is prepared to extend working hours and days further if necessary based on demand.
Coordination with Tahsildar Offices
The minister also emphasized the need for coordination with tahsildar offices, which handle agricultural land registrations, to ensure timely services. Special instructions were issued to Registrations Department Inspector General Rajeev Gandhi Hanumantu to remove any obstacles in service delivery.
