Lucknow Development Authority Announces Varun Vihar Housing Scheme Launch in June
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has officially announced that it will launch the much-anticipated Varun Vihar housing scheme in the month of June. This significant urban development project is set to transform the real estate landscape in Lucknow, offering residential plots to meet growing housing demands in the region.
First Phase to Offer 2,100 Plots in Kailash and Kashi Blocks
In the initial phase of the scheme, approximately 2,100 plots will be made available to prospective buyers. These plots are strategically located in the Kailash and Kashi blocks, which are part of the larger development plan. The decision to proceed with this launch was finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant at the LDA headquarters on Thursday.
Prathamesh Kumar, the Vice-Chairman of LDA, confirmed that online registration for the plots will commence shortly after the formal launch ceremony in June. This digital approach aims to streamline the application process and ensure transparency for all interested parties.
Massive Development Spanning 2,270 Hectares Along Agra Expressway
The Varun Vihar housing scheme is being developed over an extensive area of 2,270 hectares along the Agra expressway. This prime location is expected to enhance connectivity and accessibility for future residents. The land for this project has been procured through mutual consent agreements with villages located in the Sadar and Sarojininagar tehsils.
So far, the LDA has successfully obtained consent for approximately 853 hectares of land, marking significant progress in the acquisition process. This collaborative effort with local communities underscores the authority's commitment to ethical and consensual land procurement practices.
Additional Proposals for Monetisation of Municipal Land Reviewed
During the same meeting, officials also reviewed several proposals for the monetisation of municipal corporation land at key locations, including 1090 Crossing, Aishbagh, Hariharpur, and Atrauli near the Janakipuram scheme. Divisional Commissioner Pant directed the concerned officials to conduct thorough feasibility studies to explore the potential use of these lands for housing projects and civic infrastructure development.
This move aligns with broader urban planning goals to optimise land usage and address infrastructure needs in growing urban areas. The review of these proposals indicates a proactive approach by the LDA to leverage available resources for sustainable development.
The launch of the Varun Vihar housing scheme represents a major step forward in Lucknow's urban expansion, promising to provide new housing opportunities while fostering economic growth and improved living standards in the region.
