Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has made headlines off the field with a high-profile real estate move. The star cricketer has leased a stunning luxury apartment in Mumbai’s prestigious Worli neighbourhood. According to reports, the total rental commitment is ₹7.14 crore for over three years. The deal underscores the growing demand for premium rental homes in Mumbai among Indian cricketers and highlights Worli’s status as one of the country’s most sought-after residential addresses.
Location
As per property registration documents reviewed by real estate analysts, the apartment is located in the premium Artesia residential tower in Worli. The home spans an area of 3,875 square feet.
Prime Features
The reports suggest that the apartment features four dedicated parking spaces and offers ample space and privacy. Other premium features include private elevators, expansive layouts, concierge services, fitness centres, swimming pools, advanced security systems, and panoramic city or sea views.
The lease has been structured with an annual escalation clause. In the first year, Iyer will pay a monthly rent of ₹18.5 lakh. This increases to around ₹19.79 lakh in the second year and approximately ₹21.18 lakh in the third year. The total rental value of the agreement is nearly ₹7.14 crore over 36 months.
Rental Demand Among Celebrities
Rather than purchasing expensive real estate, a number of high-worth individuals are opting for leased properties that offer flexibility while granting access to prime locations. Iyer, born and raised in Mumbai, has represented the city throughout much of his cricketing career. The new rental move places him in one of the financial capital’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.
Worli enjoys a strategic location between South Mumbai and the Bandra-Kurla Complex. The area is popular among athletes, professionals, and public figures. In the past 10 years, the region has experienced remarkable transformation in real estate, dominated by ultra-premium residential towers overlooking the Arabian Sea.
Connectivity
The area’s connectivity via the Bandra-Worli Sea Link adds to its appeal, along with access to upscale dining and entertainment facilities. Artesia is known for its premium residences and has joined a growing collection of high-end developments that have redefined Mumbai’s residential landscape.
While ₹7.14 crore in rent over three years may seem high, it reflects the economics of Mumbai’s ultra-luxury housing segment, where neighbourhoods like Worli continue to attract wealthy renters willing to pay for comfort and convenience.
