Vadhvan Port Highway Land Compensation Distribution Commences in Palghar

Officials in Palghar district announced on Wednesday that the distribution of land acquisition compensation for the Vadhvan Port Greenfield Highway Project has officially begun. This significant development follows a crucial meeting chaired by District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar, who is overseeing the process to ensure transparency and efficiency.

Direct Bank Transfers and Documentation Support

The compensation amounts will be directly credited to the bank accounts of eligible landowners. To facilitate this, authorities have requested landowners to submit updated 7/12 extracts and mutation records promptly. In instances where mutation entries are pending, village revenue officers have received strict directives to complete them on a priority basis.

To further streamline the documentation process, special camps will be organized at Talathi offices and Gram Panchayat offices across the district. These camps aim to assist landowners in navigating bureaucratic requirements and ensuring all necessary paperwork is in order for timely compensation disbursement.

Financial and Security Advisory for Landowners

District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar has issued a strong appeal to landowners regarding the prudent management of their compensation funds. She advised against hasty spending and recommended investing in secure options such as purchasing new land, opening bank fixed deposits, or utilizing post office savings schemes.

In light of rising cyber fraud risks, landowners have been cautioned not to share OTPs or sensitive bank details with anyone. To bolster awareness, banks and the local police department have been instructed to conduct extensive campaigns educating the public about common scams and protective measures.

Avoiding Middlemen and Ensuring Direct Communication

Dr. Jakhar emphasized the importance of dealing directly with competent authorities to prevent exploitation. Landowners are urged to avoid intermediaries, agents, or brokers and instead contact the Talathi office or designated officials for all procedural matters related to the compensation process.

This initiative is part of the broader Vadhvan Port Greenfield Highway Project, which aims to enhance regional connectivity and economic growth. The compensation distribution marks a critical step in addressing the concerns of affected landowners while advancing infrastructure development in the area.
