YEIDA Issues Notices to Boost Industrial Units Near Noida Airport

YEIDA Accelerates Industrial Growth Around Noida International Airport

With the imminent launch of the Noida International Airport, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has taken decisive action to spur industrial construction in the surrounding areas. The authority has issued formal notices to investors, urging them to expedite the development of industrial units to capitalize on the airport's strategic location.

Strategic Industrial Sectors Identified

According to an official from YEIDA, the industrial sectors earmarked for rapid development are strategically positioned in Yamuna City, specifically in Sectors 24, 24A, 28, 29, and 33. These sectors are all located in close proximity to the upcoming airport, making them highly attractive for both domestic and international investors seeking logistical advantages.

Current Construction and Production Status

The official provided detailed statistics on the current state of industrial development. To date, YEIDA has allotted a total of 3,113 industrial plots in these sectors. Among these, construction has been fully completed on 52 plots, while 27 industrial units have already commenced production operations. An additional 340 units are actively under construction, indicating a significant pipeline of industrial activity.

Ambitious Targets for the Year

YEIDA has set ambitious targets to further boost industrial output. The authority plans to have approximately 180 industrial units operational and producing by the end of this calendar year. This aggressive timeline underscores the urgency with which YEIDA is approaching industrial development in anticipation of the airport's opening.

Digital Transformation of Approval Processes

To streamline development, YEIDA has modernized its administrative procedures by shifting the building plan approval process entirely online. This digital transformation allows allottees to submit applications and track their status remotely, reducing bureaucratic delays. So far, 672 companies have received approval for their industrial building plans through this system, with approximately 50% of them having already initiated construction on their plots.

Land Acquisition and Legal Support

YEIDA has also made substantial financial investments to facilitate industrial growth. In the fiscal year 2025-26, the authority allocated Rs 5,500 crore specifically for land acquisition efforts. Officials noted that proactive legal follow-ups in long-pending land cases have significantly eased acquisition hurdles, enabling smoother progress in securing land for industrial purposes.

Plot Possession and Registration Trends

Investors have taken possession of 1,634 industrial plots to date. However, YEIDA is now issuing notices to allottees who have taken possession but have not yet applied for building plan approval, ensuring that development moves forward without unnecessary delays.

Data from YEIDA reveals a notable upward trend in industrial plot registrations in recent years. Out of the 3,113 allotted plots, 2,305 have been registered, accounting for approximately 74% of the total. Registration numbers have shown consistent growth: from just 2 plot registrations in 2020-21, the figures rose to 156 in 2021-22, 287 in 2022-23, 683 in 2023-24, and 577 in 2024-25. In the current financial year of 2025-26, registrations have already surpassed the 600 mark, indicating sustained investor interest and confidence in the region's industrial potential.

The concerted efforts by YEIDA, combined with the strategic advantage of proximity to the Noida International Airport, are poised to transform the Yamuna Expressway corridor into a major industrial hub, driving economic growth and creating employment opportunities in the National Capital Region.
