Shiv Ratan Agarwal, the visionary founder of Bikaji Foods International Ltd, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 74. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Jaipur after a brief illness. His demise marks the end of an era for the Indian snacks industry.
Early Life and Journey
Agarwal started his entrepreneurial journey in 1987 with a small namkeen shop in Bikaner, Rajasthan. With sheer determination and a focus on quality, he transformed the modest venture into a household name. Bikaji is now one of India's leading snack food companies, known for its wide range of traditional and contemporary snacks.
Building an Empire
Under his leadership, Bikaji expanded rapidly, establishing manufacturing units across multiple states. The company went public in 2022, and its products are now exported to over 30 countries. Agarwal was widely respected for his business acumen and philanthropic efforts.
Tributes have been pouring in from across the business community. Rajasthan Chief Minister expressed condolences, calling Agarwal a true entrepreneur who contributed significantly to the state's economy. Industry bodies also mourned the loss, highlighting his role in putting Indian snacks on the global map.

Agarwal is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter. His sons have been actively involved in the business and are expected to carry forward his vision.
