China's rare earth exports were valued at $64.2 million in April 2026, according to preliminary trade data released by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC). The customs data showed that China exported 5,308.6 tonnes of rare earths during the month.
Overall Trade Performance
China's overall exports rose 12 per cent month-on-month in April, while the country's total trade stood at $634.06 billion. According to the GACC data, China's total exports during April were valued at $359.44 billion, while imports stood at $274.62 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $84.82 billion. The customs administration said the country's total trade, export and import value increased 7.2 per cent month-on-month.
Key Export Categories
Among major export categories, high-tech product exports stood at $104.01 billion during April, while mechanical and electrical product exports were valued at $229.29 billion. China's mobile phone exports were valued at $84.10 billion, while integrated circuit exports stood at $31.08 billion, according to the customs data.
The data further showed that exports of motor vehicles, including chassis fitted with engines, were valued at $160.96 billion during the month. Exports of automotive components and parts stood at $85.99 billion.
The figures were released as part of the GACC's April 2026 trade data update.
