Ahmedabad: Public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) have assured that petrol, diesel, and LPG supplies across Gujarat remain uninterrupted, despite a seasonal rise in demand. According to PSU OMCs, petrol retail sales in Gujarat surged by 28% year-on-year in May, while diesel sales witnessed a 41% increase during the same period.
Agricultural Activities Boost Diesel Consumption
Officials attributed the sharp rise in diesel consumption to heightened agricultural activity, as farmers across several districts prepare fields for sowing operations. The companies stated that logistics and supply operations are being closely monitored to ensure smooth fuel availability for both agricultural and household needs.
Uninterrupted Supply in Key Districts
Consumers from districts such as Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Valsad, Navsari, Kheda, Anand, and Amreli have reported uninterrupted diesel supply at PSU-run fuel stations, the companies confirmed.
PSU OMCs also urged citizens to avoid panic buying, emphasizing that sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG are available across the country, and supplies continue to remain stable. The companies reiterated their commitment to maintaining fuel availability throughout the state.
