Mangaluru Airport Sets New International Passenger Record

Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) has reached a significant milestone. In December 2025, the airport recorded its highest-ever international passenger traffic since it began commercial operations on October 31, 2020.

December Traffic Figures Show Strong Growth

The airport handled 79,065 international passengers during the month. Overall passenger traffic stood at 2,27,976. This total included 1,48,911 domestic travellers.

Aircraft movements for December totalled 1,521. This comprised 1,044 domestic flights, 422 international flights, and 55 general aviation movements.

Third Quarter Performance Remains Robust

The airport also reported a strong third quarter for 2025. In October, it handled 2,28,009 passengers. November saw 2,26,319 passengers.

Record-Breaking Single Day on January 10

A key highlight occurred on January 10. On that day, the airport handled a record 9,199 passengers. This was the highest single-day total since the declaration of commercial operations.

Of these passengers, 5,970 were domestic travellers. They achieved a 91% load factor. Meanwhile, 3,229 were international passengers. They registered an impressive 98% load factor.

The previous daily record was 8,923 passengers on November 30. The January 10 figure clearly surpassed this mark.

These numbers demonstrate the airport's growing importance in the region. They highlight its role in boosting connectivity and tourism.
