Indian Railways has launched a new train service connecting Bihar's Purnia with the holy city of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, aimed at improving rail connectivity between the eastern and southern parts of the country. The train, numbered 05271/05272, will operate on a weekly basis, providing a direct link for pilgrims and travelers.
Route and Stoppages
The train will cover a distance of approximately 2,200 kilometers, passing through multiple states. Key stoppages include Katihar, Barsoi, Kishanganj, New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Barddhaman, Dankuni, Kharagpur, Balasore, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Brahmapur, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, and Renigunta before reaching Tirupati.
Schedule Details
According to the railway officials, Train 05271 will depart from Purnia Junction every Saturday at 11:30 AM, arriving at Tirupati on Monday at 5:30 AM. The return train, 05272, will leave Tirupati every Tuesday at 1:30 PM, reaching Purnia on Thursday at 8:00 AM. The journey takes approximately 42 hours.
