Odisha Parab in London: Nabarangpur Officials to Showcase Rural Products
The High Commission of India in London has extended invitations to Nabarangpur collector Maheswar Swain, ORMAS CEO Monica Priyadarshini, and ORMAS deputy CEO Roshan Kartik to participate in Odisha Parab, scheduled for July 8 in London. The event aims to present the district's products, achievements, and development initiatives to an international audience.
Platform for Traditional Handicrafts and Millet-Based Foods
Odisha Parab will provide a major platform for promoting Nabarangpur's traditional handicrafts, millet-based food products, agricultural produce, and rural livelihood initiatives. The collector expressed pride, stating that millet-based products and rural enterprises are gaining recognition beyond national boundaries, creating new market avenues for producers and strengthening rural livelihoods.
Growing Popularity of ORMAS Products in London
According to Roshan Kartik, the invitation follows the growing popularity of ORMAS Nabarangpur products in London. Earlier, Dr. Bibhuti Patnaik (FRSA) and Sweta Mohanty, executive director of Global South Corridor, visited the district and were introduced to Indravati-branded products. Subsequently, the products were showcased at promotional events in London, receiving enthusiastic responses for taste, quality, and packaging.
Positive Feedback Leads to Invitation
The positive feedback and rising demand prompted the High Commission to invite district representatives to explore market linkages and expand the international reach of Nabarangpur's rural products. The collector noted that the invitation reflects the hard work of local farmers, women self-help groups, and rural entrepreneurs.
New Avenues for Export and Global Visibility
Participation in Odisha Parab is expected to open new avenues for export promotion, business partnerships, and global visibility for Nabarangpur's unique products and rural development initiatives. ORMAS officials highlighted ongoing efforts to improve product quality, branding, and packaging to compete in wider markets.
