Prayagraj Junction City-Side Transformation Set to Commence on April 15

Following the near-completion of remodeling efforts on the Civil Lines side, Prayagraj Junction is now poised for a significant construction phase on its city side, scheduled to begin on April 15. This next stage represents a crucial component of the railway administration's ambitious initiative to modernize one of the busiest stations in the Sangam city.

Major Structural Changes and Impact on Passenger Flow

The comprehensive redevelopment project will involve the demolition of several key structures within the city-side area of the Junction. This substantial construction activity is expected to significantly influence passenger movement patterns throughout the station. To address these challenges and prioritize safety, authorities are implementing meticulous planning measures.

Strategic barricading will be installed to guide passengers for entry and exit, particularly concerning access to different platforms from the city side, with a primary focus on platform number 1. According to Amit Kumar Singh, Public Relations Officer for the Prayagraj division, the tentative entry point will be gate number 6, located near the parcel office, while the exit will utilize the current exit gate.

Furthermore, the ticketing system will be relocated to the large holding areas to maintain operational efficiency during the construction period.

Parking Restrictions and Alternative Arrangements

In a major adjustment for commuters, city-side parking facilities will be completely restricted throughout this construction phase. In response, the railway administration has proactively developed alternative parking solutions on the Civil Lines side to ensure smooth and continued access to the station.

However, after a few weeks, the railways may introduce limited parking facilities, though these will be minimal in capacity. Passengers are strongly advised to plan their travel accordingly and consider utilizing the alternative Civil Lines side parking.

Passenger Assistance and Infrastructure Enhancements

A dedicated team of railway staff will be deployed at critical entry and exit points to actively assist passengers and provide necessary guidance. Simultaneously, digital information systems will remain fully operational, offering real-time updates and directions. Enhanced signage will also be placed throughout the station to aid navigation.

Railway authorities have reiterated their commitment to passenger convenience, assuring that all possible efforts will be undertaken to ensure travel remains as smooth as possible despite the ongoing work.

Long-Term Benefits and Commuter Advisory

The city-side redevelopment phase is anticipated to deliver substantial long-term benefits, including the introduction of modern facilities, improved circulation areas, and upgraded infrastructure. These enhancements are ultimately designed to elevate the overall travel experience for all commuters using Prayagraj Junction.

"Passengers are advised to follow all posted instructions and make full use of the alternative arrangements to navigate the station efficiently during this construction period," added PRO Amit Kumar Singh. The successful execution of this phase is a key step toward realizing a fully modernized and passenger-friendly railway hub.
