SCR Vijayawada Division Adds 12 Jansadharan Special Trains for Sankranti Rush

The South Central Railway (SCR) Vijayawada Division is taking proactive steps to manage the expected passenger surge during the Sankranti festival season. To accommodate the increased travel demand, the division will operate a total of 12 Jansadharan special trains. These unreserved services will run between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam from January 12 to January 18.

Detailed Schedule for Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam Services

Railway authorities have confirmed the operation of two train numbers during this period. Train number 08567 will run six services from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada. It will depart from Visakhapatnam at 10:00 AM and arrive in Vijayawada at 4:00 PM. On the return journey, train number 08568 will also operate six services from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam. This train will leave Vijayawada at 6:30 PM and reach Visakhapatnam at 12:35 AM the following day.

These Jansadharan special trains consist entirely of unreserved coaches. They will make scheduled stops at several key stations along the route. The halts include Duvvada, Anakapalli, Yelamanchali, Tuni, Annavaram, Samalkot, Rajamahendravaram, Nidadavolu, Tadepalligudem, and Eluru. This ensures connectivity for passengers from various towns and cities.

Additional Special Services Announced

In addition to the Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam trains, the South Central Railway has announced extra special services on other routes. These services aim to further ease the festival travel rush. One service will operate between Charlapalli and Kakinada Town. Train number 07480 will depart from Charlapalli at 10:00 AM on January 19. It is scheduled to arrive at Kakinada Town at 9:30 PM on the same day.

The return service, train number 07481, will leave Kakinada Town at 11:15 PM on January 19. This train will reach Charlapalli at 11:45 AM on January 20. Another set of services will connect Charlapalli and Tirupati. Train number 07482 will depart from Charlapalli at 4:00 AM on January 18. It will arrive in Tirupati at 7:00 PM on the same day.

The return journey from Tirupati will be operated by train number 07483. This train will leave Tirupati at 9:50 PM on January 18. It is expected to reach Charlapalli at 11:45 AM on January 19. These additional services provide more travel options for passengers during the busy Sankranti period.
