Shriram General Insurance Partners with Piramal Finance

Jaipur: Shriram General Insurance (SGI) has entered into a strategic corporate agency partnership with Piramal Finance to broaden insurance accessibility across India, with a particular focus on semi-urban and rural markets. The collaboration aims to address the low insurance penetration in smaller towns, which often leaves families vulnerable to financial shocks.

Partnership Details

Under the agreement, SGI will leverage Piramal Finance's extensive branch network, which spans 701 branches across 26 states and covers over 13,000 pin codes, to distribute its portfolio of insurance products. This network will enable SGI to reach underserved areas where insurance awareness and availability are limited.

Executive Insights

Jairam Sridharan, Managing Director and CEO of Piramal Finance, emphasized that the partnership would help bring simple and inclusive insurance products closer to customers. He noted that low penetration in smaller towns makes families susceptible to financial shocks, and this collaboration aims to mitigate that risk by providing accessible insurance solutions.
