Trichy Airport Unveils Kids' Play Zones & Digital Clocks for Enhanced Passenger Experience
Trichy Airport Adds Play Areas & Digital Clocks for Travelers

Trichy Airport Enhances Travel Experience with New Passenger Amenities

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has recently inaugurated a series of new facilities at Trichy International Airport, aimed at significantly improving the comfort and convenience of travelers. These upgrades include dedicated children's play areas and strategically placed digital clocks, reflecting a commitment to passenger satisfaction and operational excellence.

New Kids' Play Areas in Security Hold Zones

In a move to cater to families traveling with young children, AAI has established specialized play zones within the security hold areas (SHA) of both the international and domestic terminals. Each of these play areas, constructed at an investment of Rs 1.5 lakh, spans approximately 200 square feet and is designed to provide a safe and engaging environment for toddlers.

The facilities are equipped with indoor slides and feature soft foam mat flooring to ensure the safety of children during play. Access to these amenities is completely free of charge for all passengers, allowing families to utilize them while waiting for their flights.

S S Raju, the Director of Trichy Airport, emphasized the importance of these additions, stating, "The facility is designed to provide a safe and engaging space for children while families await boarding, thereby enhancing the overall travel experience. Such facilities will help the airport score well in the passenger satisfaction survey."

Installation of GPS-Enabled Digital Clocks

In addition to the play areas, AAI has installed six GPS-enabled digital clocks at various key locations throughout the airport premises. These clocks have been strategically placed at the departure and arrival levels, as well as at the entry and exit gates of the airport toll booths.

The introduction of these digital clocks is intended to assist passengers in better managing their time and to promote operational discipline within the terminal. Director S S Raju further explained, "Time on digital LED boards displayed near the toll booth area will ensure smoother vehicular movement, promote lane discipline, and improve traffic management on the airport premises."

Impact on Passenger Experience and Airport Operations

The new amenities are expected to have a positive impact on both passenger satisfaction and the overall efficiency of airport operations. The children's play areas provide a much-needed respite for families, reducing stress during wait times and making travel more enjoyable for young passengers.

Meanwhile, the digital clocks contribute to better time management for travelers and help streamline traffic flow around the airport, addressing common concerns related to congestion and punctuality.

These initiatives by AAI underscore a broader effort to modernize Trichy Airport and align it with international standards for passenger amenities. By investing in such facilities, the authority aims to not only enhance the travel experience but also boost the airport's ratings in passenger satisfaction surveys, positioning it as a more competitive and traveler-friendly hub in the region.
