In a significant push for one of Uttar Pradesh's most ambitious infrastructure projects, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday conducted a comprehensive on-site review of the under-construction Noida International Airport at Jewar. This high-level inspection marks the second time in just over a month that the CM has personally visited the site to monitor its progress.
On-Ground Review of Key Infrastructure
During his detailed tour, Chief Minister Adityanath assessed the real-time advancement of critical components of the airport. His inspection covered the terminal building, the proposed inauguration venue, integrated security systems, and traffic management plans. He closely monitored the ongoing construction activities, receiving direct briefings from the officials present on the ground.
Officials apprised the CM that the project is yet to receive its crucial aerodrome licence. In response, Yogi Adityanath issued clear directives, instructing authorities to immediately complete all pending security compliances. He emphasized the need for seamless coordination with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to expedite the process for the final security clearance.
A New Identity for Uttar Pradesh
Describing the airport as a "new identity of Uttar Pradesh's development", the Chief Minister underscored that quality, timely execution, and inter-departmental coordination must remain the top priorities for this flagship project. He stated that any pending work, especially tasks related to security, must be completed with utmost swiftness, given the project's national importance.
Following the physical inspection, a high-powered meeting was convened. The CM was joined by Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu, along with senior officials from the Civil Aviation Ministry, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, CISF, the Airport Authority of India, NIAL, the district administration, local police, and representatives from the construction agency.
Project Specifications and Next Steps
The Noida International Airport is being developed in Jewar under a public-private partnership model. The project is being executed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG. The first phase of the airport, which is currently under development, spans a vast area of approximately 1,300 hectares.
With the Chief Minister's latest review injecting fresh momentum, the focus is now squarely on addressing the security compliances and securing the necessary licences to ensure the project stays on its scheduled timeline, paving the way for a new era of connectivity and economic growth in the state.
