CBSE DRQ Tier-II Exam Schedule Released for 2026

CBSE Unveils Detailed Schedule for Tier-II Direct Recruitment Quota Examinations

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the comprehensive schedule for the Tier-II examination under the Direct Recruitment Quota (DRQ) for the year 2026. This significant announcement follows the recent declaration of the Tier-I results earlier this month, marking the next crucial phase in the recruitment process for numerous administrative and academic positions within the board.

Examination Dates and Timetable for Various Posts

According to the official notice issued on March 6, 2026, the Tier-II examinations will be conducted across three specific dates: April 18, April 19, and April 26, 2026. The board has meticulously organized multiple sessions on these dates to accommodate candidates applying for different posts, ensuring a streamlined and efficient examination process.

Only candidates who successfully qualified in the Tier-I examination will be eligible to appear for this subsequent round. The detailed timetable, as released by CBSE, outlines the specific dates, posts, pay levels, exam timings, and durations for each session:

  • April 18, 2026: Assistant Secretary (Pay Level 10) from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (3 hours) and Accounts Officer (Pay Level 10) from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (3 hours).
  • April 19, 2026: Superintendent (Pay Level 6) from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (3 hours) and Junior Translation Officer (Pay Level 6) from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (3 hours).
  • April 26, 2026: Junior Assistant (Pay Level 2) from 9:30 AM to 11:45 AM (2 hours 15 minutes) and Junior Accountant (Pay Level 2) from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (3 hours).

Special Arrangements for Academic Roles

For candidates applying to specific academic positions, such as Assistant Professor and Assistant Director (Academics, Training and Skill Education), the Tier-II examination will be conducted through a common paper. This unified approach is implemented because the syllabus and difficulty level for these roles remain consistent, facilitating a fair and standardized assessment process for all applicants in these categories.

Admit Card and Examination Centre Details

CBSE has clearly informed all eligible candidates that crucial details regarding the examination city, centre, and admit card will be released exclusively through the candidates’ login on the official recruitment portal. Applicants are strongly advised to regularly monitor their login dashboard for any updates or notifications. It is imperative to download the admit card promptly once it becomes available to avoid any last-minute complications or delays.

Importance of the Tier-II Examination in the Recruitment Process

The Tier-II examination represents a pivotal stage in the comprehensive selection process for the CBSE Direct Recruitment Quota. Successfully clearing this round is essential for candidates to be considered for the subsequent stages of recruitment. Therefore, thorough preparation and adherence to all guidelines are paramount.

All candidates who have applied for the examination must meticulously review the syllabus, examination pattern, and specific guidelines provided in their hall tickets. This proactive approach will help ensure that they are fully prepared and do not encounter any unforeseen issues on the actual day of the examination, thereby maximizing their chances of success in this competitive process.
