The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) is scheduled to conduct the preliminary examination for various Class 1 and Class 2 positions on Sunday. The exam will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Ahmedabad City district education office has finalized all administrative and security arrangements to ensure a smooth and transparent conduct of this competitive examination.
Candidate Participation and Exam Centres
According to official information, more than 13,000 candidates will appear for the exam in Ahmedabad city, including 216 Divyang (differently abled) candidates. The preliminary test covers multiple cadres, including Gujarat Administrative Service Class 1, Civil Services Class 1 and 2, municipal chief officer Class 2, assistant conservator of forest (ACF) Class 2, range forest officer (RFO) Class 2, and accounts officer Class 1 and 2. A total of 57 exam centres with 555 blocks have been established across the city.
Special Arrangements for Differently Abled Candidates
Special provisions have been made for differently abled candidates at two designated centres, with an additional 60 minutes of extra time allotted to them. To manage the process effectively, 57 centre supervisors, 13 zonal officers, 57 commission representatives, and CCTV supervisors have been deployed, all of whom have undergone prior training.
Security and Logistics
On the day of the exam, zonal officers will collect question papers from Gandhinagar under armed security and ensure timely distribution. Strict instructions have been issued regarding surveillance and security. Adequate police arrangements have also been made to maintain law and order around exam centres.
