Ahmedabad: Following the recent announcement of Class 10 and 12 results, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has scheduled supplementary examinations in June for students who either failed or are dissatisfied with their marks. To assist these students, the Ahmedabad City district education office will establish special guidance centres aimed at improving their performance.
Best of Two System Introduced
Officials have introduced the 'best of two' system, allowing students to enhance their scores by reappearing in selected subjects. Students who have failed in one or more subjects are also eligible to take the supplementary exams. Schools have been instructed to complete the application process for these students on a mission mode basis.
Free Guidance Centres from May 18
To provide academic support, free exam-oriented guidance centres will be set up across various parts of Ahmedabad starting May 18. These centres will operate with the support of local schools and experienced teachers. Initially, around 10 schools in the city will host these guidance centres, focusing on core subjects to help students strengthen their concepts and improve performance.
The centres will concentrate on core subjects and deliver focused preparation. Other schools willing to host such centres can coordinate with the education office and initiate similar efforts on their campuses. Students can attend these guidance sessions daily from 8 am to 11 am.
This initiative is part of the board's efforts to ensure every student gets an opportunity to improve their academic performance. The supplementary exams will provide a second chance for students to achieve better results.
