The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has announced a record-breaking 83.86% pass rate for Class 10 students this year. This achievement surpasses last year's record of 83.08%, marking a 0.78% improvement in overall performance.
District and Centre Performance
Among the districts, Narmada recorded the highest pass percentage at 90.85%, while Panchmahals had the lowest at 76.42%. At the exam centre level, Ajol in Gandhinagar achieved an exceptional 100% pass rate, whereas Munkholsa in Dahod recorded only 33.74%.
Grade Distribution and Gender Performance
A total of 35,508 students secured an A-1 grade this year, compared to 29,055 last year, an increase of 6,453 students. Female students once again outperformed their male counterparts, with girls achieving a pass rate of 88.28% against boys' 80.12%, a difference of 8.16%.
Exam Details and Medium-Wise Results
The exams were conducted in February and March. Evaluation began during the exam period and concluded in time for an early declaration of results. This year, 7,56,392 regular students appeared for the exam, of which 6,34,327 cleared it. Among the 67,404 repeat students, only 22,598 passed, resulting in a 33.53% pass rate. English medium students performed best with a 92.50% pass rate, followed by Gujarati medium at 82.67% and Hindi medium at 77.20%.
School Performance Trends
The number of schools achieving a 100% pass rate increased from 1,574 last year to 1,697 this year. Meanwhile, schools with less than 30% pass rate decreased from 201 to 164, and zero-result schools declined from 45 to 39.
