The Haryana Board of School Education has officially declared that the Haryana Teachers' Eligibility Test (HTET) will be conducted on June 13 and 14 this year. Approximately 2.4 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the examination, which will be held across nearly 820 centres spread throughout the state.
Examination Schedule and Security Measures
Addressing a press conference in Bhiwani, board chairman Pawan Kumar revealed that stringent security arrangements have been planned at all examination centres to prevent malpractice and ensure a smooth and peaceful examination process. Comprehensive guidelines and rules pertaining to the examination have already been circulated to assist candidates in their preparation.
Level-wise Examination Timings
Providing details about the examination timetable, Kumar stated that the Level-1, Level-2, and Level-3 examinations will be conducted during the evening session on June 13, as well as during the morning and evening sessions on June 14. This staggered schedule aims to accommodate the large number of candidates efficiently.
Exemption for Census-Related Teachers
In a considerate move, the board chairman announced that teachers currently engaged in Census-related duties will be exempted from HTET examination responsibilities. This decision was made to prevent additional workload and mental stress on these teachers.
Heatwave Precautions at Centres
Given the prevailing heatwave and extreme summer conditions, the board has directed authorities to ensure adequate arrangements at all examination centres for the comfort and safety of candidates. This includes measures such as proper ventilation, drinking water, and cooling facilities.
New Rule: Leaving Over 20 Questions Unanswered Leads to Cancellation
To maintain the sanctity, transparency, and fairness of the examination process, the board has introduced a new rule this year. Kumar announced that if any candidate leaves more than 20 questions unanswered on the OMR sheet during the examination, their candidature will be cancelled immediately. This measure is designed to prevent manipulation or the possibility of filling OMR sheets after the examination concludes.
Vigilance and Surveillance
Administrative vigilance teams and flying squads will remain active at all examination centres throughout the testing period. Additionally, the entire examination process will be monitored through CCTV surveillance to deter any malpractice and ensure compliance with rules.
Candidate Instructions
Candidates have been instructed to arrive at their examination centres at least one and a half hours before the commencement of the examination. This early arrival is necessary to complete mandatory procedures such as checking through metal detectors, biometric verification, and thumb impression data capturing in a timely manner.
