The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has officially announced the qualifying marks for the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examinations for the year 2026. Students who appeared for these exams can now check the minimum passing marks required to clear the exams.
ICSE (Class 10) Qualifying Marks 2026
For the ICSE examination, students must obtain a minimum of 33% marks in each subject to pass. However, the aggregate marks required to qualify for the next level may vary based on the subject group. The council has also specified that students must secure passing marks in internal assessments and practical exams where applicable.
Minimum Passing Marks for ICSE 2026
- Subjects with Theory and Internal Assessment: Minimum 33% in theory and 33% in internal assessment separately, with an overall aggregate of 33%.
- Subjects with only Theory: Minimum 33% in the theory paper.
- Compulsory Subjects: English, a second language, and a third subject must be passed individually.
ISC (Class 12) Qualifying Marks 2026
For the ISC examination, students need to secure a minimum of 35% marks in each subject to pass. The passing criteria also include a requirement of at least 35% in the aggregate of all subjects. For subjects with practical components, students must obtain 35% in theory and 35% in practical separately.
Minimum Passing Marks for ISC 2026
- Subjects with Theory and Practical: Minimum 35% in theory and 35% in practical, with an overall aggregate of 35%.
- Subjects with only Theory: Minimum 35% in the theory paper.
- Elective Subjects: Students must pass at least four subjects including English.

The council has also clarified that marks obtained in internal assessments and practicals will be considered for final results. Those who fail to secure the minimum qualifying marks will have to appear for compartment exams or re-evaluation as per the council's guidelines.
