The main examination will take place on two separate days in January 2026. All testing centers will be located within Ranchi district. This examination process falls under Advertisement Number 04/2024 issued by the commission.
According to the detailed schedule, the examination will follow a two-shift pattern on both scheduled dates:
- January 22, 2026: General Hindi and General English paper from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by General Studies from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM

Download Procedure and Important Instructions
The commission has made it clear that they will not send physical admit cards through postal services. All candidates must download both their admit card and attendance sheet directly from the official JPSC portal. These documents are currently available for download.
It is crucial to understand that the admit card remains provisional throughout the process. The commission reserves the right to cancel candidature at any stage if they discover eligibility issues. Candidates who notice any discrepancies in their documents must submit written correction requests before January 21, 2026.
Examination Day Protocols
Candidates should plan to arrive at their designated examination center at least sixty minutes before the scheduled start time. The examination hall will close its doors at 8:00 AM for morning sessions and 2:00 PM for afternoon sessions. Late arrivals will not receive entry permission.
All candidates must undergo biometric verification and IRIS scanning procedures at the testing center. They need to bring their downloaded admit card and attendance sheet, then sign the attendance sheet under invigilator supervision. Additionally, candidates should carry two recent passport-sized photographs matching the specifications provided on the admit card.
Examination Hall Regulations
The commission will supply answer booklets for every paper. Candidates must write their responses exclusively in the provided OMR-based booklets while following all printed instructions carefully. Writing irrelevant content or making incorrect entries could result in answer sheet cancellation.
For specific optional subjects including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics, and Statistics, candidates may use non-programmable battery-operated pocket calculators. However, calculators with programming capabilities or data storage functions remain strictly prohibited.
The commission maintains a strict ban on mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, electronic gadgets, and all other prohibited items inside examination halls. Discovery of restricted items may trigger action under Section 180 of the Jharkhand Competitive Examination Act, 2023, potentially leading to disqualification and legal consequences.
Additional Guidelines for Candidates
Candidates must remain inside the examination hall for a minimum of thirty minutes after the exam commences. Early departure is not permitted under any circumstances. The commission may bar any candidate from the examination for violating instructions or creating disturbances.
All candidates should thoroughly review every instruction printed on their admit card and follow them meticulously on examination day. The official notice containing complete details remains accessible through the commission's official channels.
