The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) 2026 has been cancelled following a major leak. The National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Abhishek Singh confirmed that investigators found significant similarities between a leaked 'guess paper' circulating on WhatsApp before the exam and the actual question paper.
WhatsApp Leak Confirmed
According to the NTA, the leaked questions were widely shared on WhatsApp groups prior to the examination. After a thorough verification process, it was determined that the leaked content matched the official exam paper. This led to the immediate cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 to maintain the integrity of the selection process.
Refunds and CBI Investigation
The NTA has announced full refunds for all candidates who appeared for the exam. Additionally, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe has been ordered to uncover the source of the leak and identify those responsible. The investigation will also look into the possibility of a 'mafia' operating behind the scenes to orchestrate such leaks.
This incident has raised serious questions about the security measures in place for high-stakes examinations in India. Candidates and parents have expressed outrage, demanding stricter protocols and accountability from the testing authorities.
Further updates on the re-examination schedule and other details are expected soon. Stay tuned for more information.
