Over 1.23 Lakh Candidates for Bihar BEd CET 2026

Patna: A total of 1,23,237 candidates will appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET)-BEd 2026, scheduled to be held at 180 examination centres across Bihar on Sunday. The examination will be conducted in a single sitting from 11am to 1pm.

According to Patliputra University (PPU) BEd CET nodal officer Rajeev Ranjan, 73,263 women have registered for the exam across the state. Patna district alone has 40 centres, where 37,112 candidates are scheduled to take the test.

Elaborate Arrangements and Security Measures

Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the examination. Centres have been equipped with necessary facilities, while strict security measures have been put in place to prevent malpractice. To maintain law and order, 60 magistrates have been deployed across centres in the state. In addition, 120 flying squad teams will monitor the examination and keep a close watch on any irregularities. Sources said the district administration has identified 164 centres as sensitive and installed jammers there to prevent the use of electronic devices.

Prohibited Items and Dress Code

Candidates have been instructed not to carry prohibited items such as mobile phones, digital calculators, laptops, cameras, Bluetooth devices, pencil boxes, erasers, and purses inside examination halls. They have also been advised to avoid wearing shoes, socks, belts, caps, scarves, and full-sleeved shirts, in line with exam guidelines.

Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The two-hour test will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions. Of these, 15 questions each will be from general English and Hindi, 40 from general knowledge, and 25 each from logical/analytical reasoning and teaching/learning environment. Each question will carry one mark, and there will be no negative marking.
