UP Board Results: Girls Outperform Boys in Class X, XII

Girls have once again outshone boys in the Uttar Pradesh Board examinations for Class X and XII, the results of which were declared on Thursday. According to Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh, the overall pass percentage for Class X stood at 90.42%.

Class X Examination Details

A total of 26,01,381 students appeared for the Class X exam, comprising 25,91,831 institutional candidates and 9,550 private candidates. Among them, 13,43,524 were boys and 12,57,857 were girls. A total of 23,52,181 students were declared successful, including 23,45,814 institutional and 6,367 private candidates. The institutional pass percentage was 90.51%, while private candidates recorded a significantly lower pass percentage of 66.67%.

Gender-wise, 11,72,862 boys and 11,79,319 girls cleared the exam. Boys recorded a pass percentage of 87.30%, while girls achieved 93.76%, outperforming boys by 6.46 percentage points.

Class XII Examination Details

In the Class XII examination, the overall pass percentage was 80.38%. A total of 24,86,072 students appeared, including 24,09,551 institutional candidates and 76,521 private candidates. Among them, 13,09,397 boys and 11,76,675 girls appeared. A total of 19,98,317 students were declared successful, including 19,38,986 institutional and 59,331 private candidates. The institutional pass percentage stood at 80.47%, while private candidates recorded 77.54%, showing a difference of 2.93 percentage points in favor of institutional students.

Gender-wise, 9,82,610 boys and 10,15,707 girls passed the Class XII examination. Boys recorded a pass percentage of 75.04%, while girls achieved 86.32%, outperforming boys by a significant margin of 11.28 percentage points.

Evaluation Process

The evaluation of High School answer sheets was conducted by 96,803 examiners, while Intermediate evaluation was completed by 55,973 examiners. Additionally, Intermediate practical examinations were conducted between January 24 and February 9, in two phases, supervised by 18,007 examiners. A total of 58,134 candidates appeared under partial subject regulations, informed Singh.
